When a female kiwi lays an egg, it is about 25% of her body size - roughly the equivalent of a human woman giving birth to a four year old child.
Since laying such a large egg leaves the lady kiwi a touch exhausted, it is actually the male kiwi who incubates and cares for the new egg until it is ready to hatch, thus proving that there is nothing natural about assuming childcare should be the sole responsibility of the woman.
